CORRE  /  found tumbleweed, 24 K GOLD LEAF

The noun core, describes a central vein, an electric magnetism, a sample of earth taken in search of gold, or the most essential part of a thing; while correr is the Spanish verb for running, streaking.  This piece encompasses both: the untethered freedom to roam across borders with the wind, and the bright anchoring at its center.  The gold leaf is at once an illusion of light and weight. The tumbleweed has been shaped by its journey through the desert, and its central stem that once rooted it to the ground in its unknown origin, has been gilded and solidified.
